Hands On Museum, Fairy Doors & Literati

My youngest niece, Maycee, came to visit us last weekend!  Her dad and my mother brought her to come hang out with us since we won't have time to visit West Michigan for a while.  She is 5 1/2 now and is finally old enough to really enjoy all of the fun things that Ann Arbor has to offer.  She was especially excited to go to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum!  We've been telling her about this place for months, it is a dream come true for little kids.  So many things to see, turn, toss, feel, pull and places to dance, jump, run, talk, play and learn!  This place surrounds kids with education but in the most exciting ways...

She let me corral her for a second before we walked to the museum...

^^ I'm totally stealing her poses next time I ask Andy to take a picture of me!  I call this one the ankle roll lean.  Totally cute <3

As we rounded the corner and the atrium came into sight, she took off!

And the running didn't stop until we left!  From here on out, nearly ever photo was blurry - that girl was fast!  There are so many things for her to explore, each floor more exciting than the last...

It was so much fun to watch the kids interact each other.  And watching parents either be really involved or totally absorbed by their cell phones.  I was the paparazzi type :)

So curious!  What do you see, Mayce?  "I see two little girls..."

I loved watching her very seriously line up all of these balls...

...then she took a step back to admire her work!  Lots of fun :)

After the museum, we walked around to find some fairy doors!  Maycee asked me "Are the fairies real or fake?"  I said "What do you think, babe?" "REAL!"  Oh yes.  Let's go find them...

^^ Peaceable Kingdom

We also found the fairy shop at Lily Grace but they were closed so we couldn't go in.

Next, we went to Literati to pick out some books!

I picked out this one (surprise, surprise) and Maycee picked out this one.

On the way back to our house, we stopped by this mural for a picture.  I love that she saw something aquatic in this!  I guess I can see it...but I certainly never thought about it before!

And then she was over the photo shoot and ready to go play some more...
