Upgrading the Basics

I love wearing t-shirts!  I'll wear a tee with yoga pants around the house or to run errands.  I'll attempt to dress them up with skinny jeans, cute flats and putting on makeup ;)

I like to buy a combination of cheap tees and better quality tees to get me through each season.  This year, I came across this Syla Linen Knit Scalloped Hem Tee (in Jasmine) from Velvet by Graham and Spencer, while I has hunting for blush skinnies.  I was only going to order the Toni Skinny Jeans (in Bisque) but then I discovered a 15% off coupon via my retailmenot search before checking out and I went for it!

Even with the 15% off coupon the Syla Linen Knit Scalloped Hem Tee was still relatively expensive for a tee.  But every once in a while I like to upgrade my basic tees (ahem, $8 Gap tee) to something a little nicer.  The 100% linen material is luxurious, its made in the USA and the slouchy shoulder and exposed collarbone can add some sexiness to a laid-back look.  Its breezy feel is perfect for the ups and downs of spring weather and it will be great to throw over a swimsuit in the summer.  This tee can probably even carry me into fall with a scarf, jacket and boots (ah, don't want to think about fall yet!).  Whilst expensive, this tee upgrade was well worth it!

I re-discovered Velvet by Graham and Spencer in this post when I mentioned this dress and I have a feeling they might make it into my rotation of online 'window' shopping.  They are like a cross between Madewell and J. Crew - check it out!
